being C&T creative leader on this project allowed me to experience the full process from ideation to material sampling to execution and to assembling of the showcar /
for CUPRA the TAVASCAN is considered as a design manifesto: not only does it herald the start of a surprisingly new athletic design language, it is also a progressive statement for the new brand C&T design as it clearly stages the three CUPRA ID material pillars: structural lightweight is represented by the performative high gloss carbon fibre, embracing musculature is expressed through delicate leather and precious detailing is translated into sculptural copper lamellae. this clear C&T conception results in a purely stimulating consonance of materials and colors and it blends sportive performance with an unique and sophisticated atmosphere /

one of the highlights is the back-lit pattern in the door panels that is linked with the car's UI system. due to the light-colored leather, the fading perforation was realized by high-precision water-cutting /
the CUPRA typical triangle signature graphic is taken up again on the seats in a macro way by using soft 3D leather implants for a sculptural and seamless appearance /
highly time-intense hand-stitches
accentuate the dynamic contour of the slim bucket seats, while other leather-upholstered elements like dashboard, console and door panels are trimmed seamlessly with one single piece of leather as a clean and contemporary sign of high craftsmanship /

exterior and interior /
a highly progressive decoration trim is the eye-catching element of the interior: the 3D structure with its parametric fading is haptically experienceable /
the kinetic laser-perforation of the
seats is reflecting the triangular theme of the deco trim in a more sophisticated way, highlighted by a reflective copper backing under the perforated microfibre /
CUPRA BORN SERIES

for the series BORN project, we developed the triangular theme into different directions: for the basic seat in seaqual textile, centrally placed triangles create a spine that morphs into fine 3D embossed ribs. the higher trims in microfibre stage the laser-cut perforation with copper backing from the BORN vision /

with this concept car CUPRA is giving a glimpse of its future product for the urban context. as design leader of the project i did not only creatively guided the team, but i also worked hands-on on the graphic development
development with computer-aided tools. our CMF story is based on merging an intensively charged feeling of electrification and the experience of the digital era. this concept led us to the highly energetic and progressive
combination of shimmery iridescent finishes, neon color accents and digitally inspired, kinetic graphics that highlight the gesture and movement of the 3D shapes by a vibrant glow /

on the new EXTREME-E model, the CMF design is highlighting the sculptural design of the car body through the flow of graphics. parametric texturized patterns highlight the bold muscles of the race car while the subtle metallic color fading stretches the massive body horizontally. copper accents and acid white details underline the CUPRA typical branding and its unexpected look /

the new color taiga grey is exclusively designed for the VZ5, the bold high-performance model of FORMENTOR. the sportive false-uni effect dresses the VZ5 into a flat stealth-like look in the shade, while in sunlight unexpected sparkle pigments appear and emphasize the sculpture of the car /
elements in real carbon fibre are completing the performative look while copper elements such as wheel rim details, calipers and exhaust pipes add the CUPRA typical sophistication /
for an unique feel in the interior and to highlight the car's crossover theme, we decided to go for a sophisticated yet sporty combination of brown leather and black microfibre. the kinetic arch-like quilting graphic of seats and door panels channel bold protector structures. the refined smoothly fading laser-cut perfo inbetween the quilted lines is enhanced through a metallic copper backing /
